Exhibition Groups-
Why we chose our Topic.
We chose this topic because we are passionate about change in Fairtrade and we want to persuade everyone to buy Fairtrade and know where to buy the products and which companies sell Fair trade.

Hi, Georgia and Victoria have chosen the topic of racism. We chose this topic because when we did our colonisation project I did South African apartheid and linked my topic to that. Racism is a huge issue with so many elements to the topic. I hope to educate you in a way that you will remember. Come to our stall and get ready for some sad and interesting information about racism.

Hi, I'm Mia and I'm Alani. We have chosen to research about government systems impacting on human rights in the past. Both of us love history and we are passionate about many topics such as; the Medieval Ages Peasants Revolt, the French Revolution and the Holocaust. We plan to use engaging presentation tools that will educate and inspire all the students in Sandy House. Mia and I have already learnt that there are an alarming amount of moments in history that people have to forget, such as the Iraq War and the colonistation of Australia. We want to bring these to your attention and make sure that you don't forget them because when you are old enough to vote you need to have the tools and the knowledge to make a good choice. Come to our stall in exhibition and be ready to become a minor political historian!!

We chose child rights because we are always finding more about adults and their work conditions and we don't really do any research about children. We also chose this topic because we didn't know much about the rights of the child. The three main questions we chose were child slavery, children in the industrial revolution and the life of children all around the world.

Refugees - Isabella & Kate
For exhibition our topic is refugees. We feel it is an important issue because refugees are being treated unfairly and being sent to horrible immigration detention centers or even being sent all the way back to the country they came from. We think that we need to raise awareness in our community as this is such an important issue.
Our lines of inquiry are
  1. How a person becomes a refugee. (Function)
  2. Reasons refugees leave there country. (Causation)
  3. Australia's responsibility to assist genuine refugees. (Responsibility)
We are planning to show maps that identify where most refugees come from and where they flee to. Also we will contact people in government who are trying to support refugees and compare conditions in the countries they come from to what we have in Australia.

Aboriginal Rights
We chose this topic because it is an important issue in the world which we live and we wanted to investigate it because we felt that it is wrong. We chose to look into the Indigenous activist like Eddy Mabo, etc. We wanted to make a change in the world and in the school.

Clean Water
We chose water shortage because we were passionate about the topic from the start. We believe that every adult and child should have access to clean water. We thought that by doing this topic we would get a real understanding how the world works around us and what we can do to help.

Animal Cruelty
We choose animal cruelty as our topic because we believe animals should be treated the same way we treat humans. We want to help animals that are suffering from animal testing. We also wanted to find out all about the rights of animals.

Child Labour
We choose this topic because we feel that all children should have the same rights and working rights and living conditions. We had a few ideas but we didn't know how bad it was. Living in such an amazing country we really want to make difference and help children around the world have a better future.
